Smalensk Publishing House Chickens Out
As reported by RFE\RL, a publishing house in Smalensk, Russia, refused to publish Belarusian independent newspapers – Narodnaya Vola, BDG, Tovarishch, and others. They had to be multiplied in exile after a similar ban had been imposed within Belarus. Newspapers’ owners think this move by Russian publishers was politically motivated. With just a few days left until the final vote, Belarus’ information space is becoming even narrower.
